Minister of Justice Eduardo Arana did not condemn the measure that aims at completing the control of the justice system, since it has already appointed members of the Supreme Court, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Constitutional Court.
Arana said that the Government is concerned about the summary investigation to the JNJ agreed on Thursday by the full Congress, after a series of hostile pronouncements to the magistrates in charge of appointing and supervising judges and prosecutors.
In addition, the Episcopal Commission for Social Action (CEAS) of the Catholic Church denounced that the investigation of the seven members of the JNJ “seeks the dismissal of its members, attacking the independence and balance of powers.”
“It will place us among the countries ineligible for any economic exchange with the democracies of the world,” the religious entity sentenced.
