According to that body of justice, the operations were executed Thursday night in the provinces of Pichincha, Chimborazo and Cotopaxi.
The raids were carried out in the Social Rehabilitation Centers of El Inca, located in Quito and Cotopaxi in the city of Latacunga.
Two other people were also arrested in the south of the Ecuadorian capital, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
Six other people of Colombian nationality have been detained since early in the morning of August 10, a day after Villavicencio was murdered by assassins when he was leaving one of his campaign rallies in Quito.
The Prosecutor’s Office said that the proceedings and the investigation of this case will continue and recommended political actors and citizens to be cautious with the handling of information, as to draw conclusions without due support would cause confusion and misinformation, the institution explained.
