According to the new measure, the affected women no longer need to showcase a medical check-up, a rape report or a sworn statement, Radio Pichincha unfolded.
The Court’s decision is in addition to the one approved in July 2022, setting forth that girls and teens may have access to abortion in case of rape, without the need for authorization from their legal representatives or third parties.
Such a provision must be complied with within 15 days after the new members of Parliament are sworn in, whose credentials will be issued by the National Electoral Council through December 8, 2023.
