During the encounter, Alonso along with UM professors analyzed issues as students’ boarding schools’ conditions, the availability of material and human resources, the attention to international relations and the management carried out with the government and companies to respond to the UM’s problems.
In the meeting, UM’s Rector Leyda Finale explained issues related to existing assets for teaching, safety and occupational health.
Finale further detailed the main constructive actions of the university, which include creating and remodeling laboratories and classrooms, and the opening of a laboratory for the Electrical Engineering major at the Juan Marinello campus in conjunction with Union Electrica owned-state company.
The rector highlighted the contribution of the university to the growth of Matanzas’ human potential, the notable impact in having results and technologies from the work in research projects, which makes possible the participation in events and the socialization of the results in scientific journals.
