Cuban President reviews implementation of policy for young people

Havana, Sep 8 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, accompanied by several ministers, reviewed the implementation of the Comprehensive Policy for Children, Adolescents and Youths, approved by the National People's Power Assembly in July, it was reported on Friday.

Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo explained at the meeting, held on Thursday, that together with the Ministry of Education, they are working on a bill on the policy that will be submitted to the legislative body in December, the Presidency of the Republic reported on its website.

In this regard, the head of State called to work on the proposed legal standards and to carry out a consultation process, mainly focused on youths.

In addition, he pointed out that progress should be made in the implementation of the regulation based on the working system of the Government of Cuba.

Díaz-Canel noted that although all the problems of young people may be solved with the policy, solutions and measures to accompany that sector will begin to be created.

“We have to bring to society, and especially to state institutions, to decision-makers, the perception that whenever we approve something, we see what implication that decision has on children, adolescents and youths, so that, as part of the policy, it has a differentiated treatment,” he stressed.

The Comprehensive Policy for Children, Adolescents and Youths responds to the importance given by the Cuban State to the new generations and the need to transform the current legislation in line with the 2019 Constitution.
