At a meeting in Havana, PCC Secretary of Organization Roberto Morales and CNDD-FDD Secretary General Révérien Ndikuriyo discussed the actions to continue to strengthen bilateral ties.
According to information from the PCC, they also analyzed the challenges they face in the economic and social transformation of both nations.
Morales explained to the visitor the efforts made by the people, Government and Party of Cuba in the struggle against the blockade imposed by the United States, and thanked Burundi for its support in the vote at the United Nations against the economic, financial and commercial blockade.
He highlighted the existing friendship between Cuba and Africa, ratified during the recent tour of PCC First Secretary and President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Révérien Ndikuriyo, in turn, recalled the historic relations between the two countries, and referred to his people’s affection for Cuba and their deep admiration for the historic leader, Fidel Castro, and the Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara.
