“The Chilean project was an unprecedented pathway in the history of the world, which many peoples from different continents are following, for emancipation and social justice, for sovereignty and democracy”, the text said.
The proclamation was presented at the PCCh´s headquarters in presence of its Secretary-general Lautaro Carmona; Deputy Lorena Pizarro, and Mayor of Recoleta commune Daniel Jadue.
The document, read by Carmona, stressed that Allende’s assumption in 1970 occurred within the framework of the rule of law and the Constitution in force back then.
It was a process the oligarchy and imperialism could only stop temporarily through the September 11, 1973 coup, imposition of systematic terrorism; planned application of disappearances and the torture and executions.
History shows, the text added, that any process of structural and profound transformations must be championed with popular awareness; with broad alliances and the necessary correlation of forces.
