Solidarity and support for Cuba a mandate from Vietnam’s heart

Hanoi, Sep 6 (Prensa Latina) Solidarity, support, and cooperation with Cuba are like a mandate from the heart and a consistent policy that never changes, Tran Ngoc Tam, Chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, affirmed on Wednesday.

Although geographically separated, Vietnam and Cuba have always been proud to have a close, loyal, pure, and sincere relationship, Ngoc Tam stressed at an event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Garrison and the 50th anniversary of the first visit by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to this nation.

The Vietnamese leader noted that Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro thoroughly established this relationship, and it has been continuously strengthened, developed, expanded, and created as a source of strength by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

He recalled that as part of a widespread movement in Cuba to show solidarity, support, and encouragement to the South Vietnam people in general and this territory in particular, a village named Ben Tre was founded on December 20, 1969, in what is now Artemisa Province.

Cuban Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ariadne Feo Labrada, stressed at the ceremony that the 40th anniversary of the founding of Moncada village in Luong Hoa municipality is an example of solidarity and people-to-people exchanges.

Vietnam and Cuba are two brotherly countries that, through their leaders, have established a singular, sincere, and mutually supportive relationship in all fields, Feo Labrada said. She then congratulated the people, Party, and Government of Vietnam for the 78th anniversary of independence of their country.
