The Egyptian Minister for Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, reported that some 8,000 people have registered to participate in the event, which will last until next Friday.
Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, in turn, explained that the conference agenda consists of scientific programs, discussion panels and dialogue sessions at which some 270 Egyptian and foreign speakers will participate.
According to organizers, the event is an opportunity for researchers and politicians to get first-hand information on the dynamic relationship between population, health and development.
The conference will also be attended by representatives of international agencies and civil society.
Topics such as the pharmaceutical industry, the role of preventive health care, improvements to primary care, therapeutic medicine and the challenges in the supply chain after the Covid-19 pandemic will be be debated during the event.
