On the social network X, formerly Twitter, National People’s Power Assembly Esteban Lazo sent congratulations to all the members of the Navy and stressed that “they have been bulwarks in the defense of the Socialist Homeland and in Fidel (Castro)’s call to be a Navy of Patria o Muerte (Homeland and Death).

Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, in turn, congratulated the Cuban sailors, whom he described as faithful defenders of sovereignty and peace.

The Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, also congratulated the Revolutionary Navy and described its troops as the safeguard of Cuba and the people’s tranquility.

The Revolutionary Navy is corps of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), established by Law 600 on October 16, 1959, in Article seven. It is made up of regular forces and territorial troops militias, created from national institutions related to the maritime, port and nautical branch.
