The document will provide materials about Latin America to the Lao newspaper, founded in April 1994, with links with 50 news agencies and media organizations from more than 30 countries.
Cuban Ambassador Enna Viant said that it will provide greater understanding and cooperation between the two nations.
Viant and Thonglor Douansavanh, editor-in-chief of the local daily Vientiane Times, penned the agreement.
Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Phosy Keomanivong, Somsavat Phongsa, head of the Ministry’s Media Department; and executives from foreign-language newspapers attended the signing ceremony.
Viant informed on the preparations for the Group of 77 (G-77) plus China Summit to be held in Havana on September 15-16.
The diplomat also thanked Laos’ support for the Cuban cause against the United States blockade and the Lao media’s constant attention to what is happening in Cuba.
