The Cuban Foreign Ministry pointed out that as part of his agenda, Alvarez will hold talks with Interim Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal.
He will also meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, and other Cuban officials.
Last Friday, the Cuban Foreign Ministry announced Alvarez’s visit to Havana on Monday and Tuesday, as part of the strategy to strengthen relations with the Caribbean.
The head of Dominican diplomacy is accompanied by Deputy Ministers José Julio Gómez, in charge of Bilateral Foreign Policy; Hugo Francisco Rivera, responsible for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation; and Opinio Díaz Vargas, who is devoted to Consular and Migratory Affairs.
The delegation also includes Dominican Ambassador to Cuba Flavio Rondón; the director general for Migration, Venancio Alcántara Váldez, and the MIREX directors of Cabinet, Juan José Portorreal; of Studies and Strategic Analysis, Anselmo Muñiz; of Consular Affairs, Cándido Omar Mercedes; and of Migratory Affairs, Jadhel Herrera.
