Military sources indicated the attack targeted Regiment 46 and the towns of Kafer Tal and Kafer Amma west of Aleppo, and also pointed out that most of attackers were terrorists with foreign nationalities, particularly Turkestan, members of the Omar Bin Khattab and Omar Ibn Ass groups.
The Syrian Armed Forces shelled the attacking extremists with artillery and missiles, while Russian aircraft destroyed positions and supply points in the rear.
According to official sources, the attack coincided with another one by the Turkiye-backed National Army group in Mahmoudiya, Manbej municipality.
Plus, army units operating in Idlib destroyed terrorist sites in the south of this northern province with heavy artillery.
Extremist gangs increased in recent months their raids from Idlib against military positions and residential areas located under government control, prompting the army to respond to these actions.
