In this regard, one of the spokespersons of the “Alianza Pueblo Unido por la Vida”, Marcos Andrade, confirmed to Prensa Latina that street demonstrations will be permanent in rejection of this text, which violates national sovereignty and threatens nature.

The general secretary of the National Confederation of Independent Trade Union Unity denounced that the pact involves concessions to foreign companies and affects not only the area where the copper mine is located, but compromises almost half of the national territory, with the consequent plundering of natural resources.
