Both parties discussed the latest political events in Lebanon and the region, according to the local channel Al-Manar.
The Iranian foreign minister was accompanied at the meeting by the ambassador of Iran, Mojtaba Amani.
This is Abdollahian’s third visit to Lebanon this year, after the ones in January and April, in which he reiterated his government’s willingness to cooperate in economic, commercial and energy fields.
The Iranian Minister arrived in Beirut from Damascus, Syria, with the purpose of endorsing his support for the stability and prosperity of Lebanon, in the midst of the worsening crisis and the presidential vacuum.
Abdollahian called on all countries to cooperate and help the Lebanese people; he also ratified Tehran’s willingness to maintain its solidarity.
Abdollahian held a closed-door meeting yesterday with the leaders of the Palestinian movements Hamas and Islamic Jihad, to whom he ratified the commitment to the people, the resistance and the cause of Lebanon for the liberation of their land.
