Reducing Jet Blue’s flights to Cuba is firstly the result of Donald Trump’s policies of stiffing the Cuban people and economy that, as a consequence also creates problems for U.S. companies, activist Carlos Lazo said in statements to Prensa Latina.

In 2019, the Donald Trump administration, as part of its policy of maximum pressure against Cuba, suspended all flights to Cuba, except to Havana. But in May 2022, in a group of measures unveiled by Joe Biden it granted license to airlines such as Jet Blue to increase their operations in Cuba.

Prensa Latina tried to be in contact with the company through its customer service hotline, but commments not given; only the automated response related to the waiting time in line in the face of difficulties after Hurricane Idalia, which hit the U.S. territory last Wednesday.
