Deaths and exodus in U.S.-allied separatist militia in Syria (+Photo)

Damascus, Sep 1 (Prensa Latina) At least 40 people lost their lives in northeastern Syria during five days of internal fighting in the ranks of the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF), a US-backed separatist militia, activists reported.

According to the sources, several civilians, including women and children, are counted among the deaths, while dozens were wounded and others were taken hostage by both sides.

The clashes began after the arrest and destitution of the leader and four members of the Deir Ezzor Military Council junta, after being summoned by SDF commanders to a meeting at one of the US bases in the Hasakeh governorate.

Mass defections of elements of the Arab component of the SDF were also reported, as tribes in the Deir Ezzor province joined the insurgents.

Images posted on social media showed the capture and burning of several Syrian Democratic Forces headquarters and Humvee vehicles, as well as the takeover of nearly 10 towns by tribal forces, including Al-Shahil and Al- besera.

Infighting between armed groups are very frequent in the areas where Turkish and US forces are illegally present, in particular over the distribution areas of influence, the control of border crossings and property looted from civilians.

Popular actions against the SDF, a Kurdish-majority irregular group that dominates most of Syria’s al-Jazeera region and receives weapons, money and training from the United States, have been on the rise amid outrage as a result of their criminal practices against the locals and their submission to the United States, in addition to the theft of Syrian oil and crops.
