The letter from Nicolás Cataldo, Education Minister, with proposals to solve eight demands it was analyzed in assemblies in all regions of the country and submitted to a vote.

After the votes were counted, nearly half of the 50,000 participants decided to call off the strike and continue the demands through other means.

One of fundamental aspects is the payment of the so-called historical debt, generated during the military dictatorship when educators’ salaries were reduced, which had an impact on the amount of their pensions at the time of retirement.
