The head of Government informed here that he received a document from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), based in Barbados, which presents a plan for the financing and operation of a regional air transport company.
He stated, as quoted by Saint Vincent Times, that although the possible locations for the new headquarters are still being discussed, he presented St. Vincent and the Grenadines as one of the options to be considered.
“I carefully review the recent document provided by CDB President Hyginus Leon. The document refers to the reactivation of a regional airline and outlines the procedures involved,” he revealed.
Gonsalves added that the potential owners of the airline could be the OECS Governments and that the CDB’s involvement would also need to be considered.
He admitted that there are still tasks to be completed and meetings to be held among the leaders of the parties involved.
The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States comprises a group of islands including St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, British Virgin Islands, Montserrat and Anguilla.
