The exhibition, which will close on September 5, is a journey throughout the work of the artist, who is considered one of Cuba’s most important plastic artists, who created more than 130 paintings, including charcoal portraits, oil paintings, engravings and works using other techniques.
Cabrera was a prolific artist, from the academy, from which he later broke to detach himself from the scholarly canons, although he studied at the San Alejandro School of Fine Arts, according to Master Rosemary Rodriguez, an expert on his life and work.
Cabrera was nourished by the sap of Pablo Picasso, who was the greatest influence on his work, the specialist explained a few months ago at the 1st International Conference on Heritage.
Throughout all his creative stages, Cabrera sailed under the influence of Picasso’s blue, pink and Neoclassical periods, he traveled to Spain, Italy and Greece, visited Mexico and Central America for the first time, and that was where his production ended.
