The air forces from Seoul and Washington conducted live-fire exercises on Wednesday as part of the Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) maneuvers.
In this regard, the General Staff said that such a drill is a serious threat to the country, and accused both nations of rehearsing an invasion of its territory by holding the UFS exercises.
Pyongyang responded with a military command post exercise supervised by DPRK leader Kim Jong Un.
Such a military action was conducted by the tactical nuclear weapons operation unit of the western zone of the Korean People’s Army (KPA). The operators fired two tactical ballistic missiles to the northeast from Pyongyang’s International Airport, and accomplished the nuclear strike mission by exploding them at the preset height of 400 meters of the airspace over the target islet.
The training was aimed at sending a clear signal to the enemies of the DPRK that “the KPA will never stand by idly in the face of reckless moves by US forces and the military gangsters of the Republic of Korea.”
