Hernández will participate in the galas that will last until September 3, to perform the pas de deux The Black Swan, along with Panamanian prima ballerina Ana Lorena Boyd.
The National Ballet of Panama was founded in 1972 and is currently directed by teacher Gloria Barrios.
About these honoring activities, which have also travelled to municipalities and provinces such as Veraguas (center) and Chiriquí (west), Barrios said that her goal is to spread and sensitize the population in the art of dance.
It is not the first time the young Cuban dancer has performed in Panama.
In July 2019, according to press reports, his performances stood out alongside fellow Cuban prima ballerina Gretell Morejón during the third edition of the Panama Ballet Festival.
Dedicated this year to celebrate ballerina Margot Fonteyn’s 100th birthday, the event featured several world-renowned dance figures, such as Brittany Pollack and Daniel Ulbrich of the New York City Ballet, and Marianela Núñez of the Royal Ballet of London, among other dancers.
