According to Télam, the groups that make up the Peronism of Sovereignty organization called for a military campaign and supported the candidacies of Economy Minister Sergio Massa for president and Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers Agustín Rossi for vice president.

The October Movement, the Maritime Workers’ Union, the Néstor Kirchner Organization, and the Argentine National Union are among the organizers.

Under the slogan “For Work, Production, and Sovereignty: Massa President,” the meetings will be held in popular canteens, workers’ internal commissions, and schools, among other facilities.

According to Gastón Harispe, general secretary of the October Movement, the meetings will explain the UP proposals and call on citizens to mobilize against those who promote the dismantling of public education and health, the loss of monetary sovereignty with dollarization, and the sale of human organs.

Organizations such as Somos Barrios de Pie, in turn, have announced that they will work to get those who have decided not to participate in the August 13 primary elections (about 30 percent of the electoral roll) to participate in elections.
