One of the initiatives will take place in the community “El Canal”, in the municipality of Cerro, in this capital, with renowned artists and writers, the talent of the amateur movement, students of artistic education, representatives of local socio-cultural projects and the accompaniment of the Government in Havana.
Galicia Park, also in this city, will be another space where the varied proposals of cultural institutions will converge, with a program that starts in the morning with the parade of the comparsa El Alacrán, workshops for children and the presence of the children’s theater group La Colmenita.
Throughout the day, there will also be book presentations, poetry readings, circus performances, exhibitions, cartoonists and students with demonstrations of dance, plastic arts and music.
At 7:00 p.m. local time, the dance music show will begin with the Orquesta Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, preceded by the presentation of comedians and the Revolution dance company, directed by Roclan González.
The site will be turned into a large cultural plaza, where tents will be set up for the sale of books, musical records, articles from the Cuban Fund of Cultural Goods, in addition to a variety of gastronomic services.
On September 2, the Artex company will also organize a giant party on San Rafael Boulevard, in Havana Center, starting at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Meanwhile, the Arte en la Rampa Fair ends its 22nd edition with several artistic proposals and the Gira por los Barrios (Neighborhood Tour) offers a concert by the Buena Fe Group, Dúo Iris and Karamba starting at 9:00 p.m., at the central esplanade of La Piragua, on Havana’s Malecon.
