Comunes party reported that at 03:52, local time, ‘a serious attack occurred against Marino Molina Cruz’, member of the National Directorate of this political force, born of the 2016 Peace Agreement.

Two of his escort agents Flor Lozano and Ubertey Mendoza were injured in the criminal act.

In a statement to press, Comunes Party declared that the events were conducted by heavily armed men, who attacked his place of residence, located in the neighborhood of San Rafael, in the district of Puente Arandary.

It was previously known that days before some men had carried out intelligence activities against Marino Molina and his family at his place of residence, he added, while stressing that at the time of the events Marino Molina did not have the full security measure assigned by the UNP.

This serious situation adds to the increase of threats and victimizing acts against the population that signed the Peace Accord, aggravated by the electoral contest scenario that the country is going through and by the late action of the UNP to take the necessary security measures that this demands’, he warned.
