The legislators paid a minute of silence in memory of the renowned fighter against the dictatorship (1973-1990), before starting the sessions corresponding to this day at the headquarters of that body, located in the city of Valparaíso.
The act was joined by several members of right-wing political groups, and even some of the extremist Republican Party, who were present in the chamber.
After the minute of silence, the CCP parliamentarians laid flowers on the seat where Teillier used to sit during the three consecutive periods in which he was a member of that chamber between 2010 and 2022.
This Wednesday the coffin of the communist leader remains exposed in the former headquarters of the National Congress where thousands of people, including militants, politicians, officials and the general population, come to honor his memory.
Guillermo Teillier died the day before in this capital due to health problems that arose after suffering the Covid-19.
