During the meeting, Singh recalled India’s proposal, as chair of the Group of Twenty (G20), of granting membership of the bloc to the African Union at the next Summit, which will take place in New Delhi on September 9th-10th.
Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Defense, who is holding an official visit to India, celebrated the cordial relations between the two countries and highlighted the long-standing ties that date back to before independence.
As part of his program in India, the Kenyan official will tour the shipyards and industrial plants of the defense sector located in Goa and Bengaluru.
Duale’s presence is considered the first high-level independent political visit by the current Kenyan government, and reflects the importance New Delhi attaches to its relations with African states, and is also indicative of the growing cooperation between India and Kenya in particular, according to the Indian Defense Ministry.
The visit is expected to promote new projects to strengthen cooperation in this matter between the two countries.
