During the conversation, Putin conveyed his impossibility to attend the Summit, which will take place in New Delhi on September 9-10, and informed about Lavrov’s participation, Modi’s office reported in a press release.
The Indian head of Government expressed understanding of Putin’s decision and thanked him for Russia’s constant support for all initiatives under India’s G20 presidency.
The two leaders reviewed the progress on issues of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including the recent BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
They also agreed to keep in touch.
