Nine of the 13 pavilions set up for the literary fair are located inside the museums that the cultural venue houses, with the aim of also bringing attendees closer to the national heritage.
During the days of the event, the exhibition “Emociones” by the Dominican photographer Jochy Campusano will remain open, made up of hundreds of faces of local actors and actresses, in which the author managed to convey the states of mind that each individual goes through in different moments of his life.
The Comic Book Pavilion, one of the biggest attractions of the contest, offered this Sunday the workshop “Creativity vs. the limits: processes to create a comic”, by Jorge E. Pérez, who expressed that from a very young age he felt attracted to this peculiar way of telling stories.
Until September 4, the last day of the fair, there will be panels, conversations, conferences and workshops, as well as the circulation of various works.
The colloquium “The new censorship and self-censorship” is scheduled for today in the Identity and Citizenship Pavilion, and the presentation in the Blue Pavilion of Poetry of the novel “Chiquita, I will always love you”, by Arelis Domínguez.

This afternoon, the Literature Room will dedicate its space to the Dominican diaspora, with the presentation of the books produced by the National Publishing House “Crónicas crónicas”, posthumous text by René Rodríguez Soriano, and “The birds that one day emigrated. The Dominican short story in Europe”, with a selection and prologue by Rosa Silverio.
Yesterday evening, the Jeannette Miller Pavilion, the Dominican writer to whom the International Book Fair is dedicated, was inaugurated.
On the occasion, the Minister of Culture, Milagros Germán, the General Director of Books and Reading, Ángela Hernández; the director of the Book Fairs, Joan Ferrer; the coordinator of the aforementioned pavilion, Ylonka Nacidit; officials of the institution and invited personalities.
Germán described Miller as an exemplary woman in society and highlighted her imprint as a nationally and internationally awarded author.
“This extraordinary poet, narrator, essayist, educator, art historian and militant of the best causes in the history of our country, from a very young age taught us, in her journey through history, literature and art, her formula to combat fear,” said the minister.
