Through the social network formerly called Twitter, Mintur disclosed that on the night of August 27, Cuba was awarded for the third consecutive year by the World Travel Awards in the Caribbean Cultural Destination category, since it offers travelers innumerable outstanding attractions heritage cities such as Havana (west), Trinidad (center), and Santiago de Cuba (east).
To this are added dance activities of great value such as the son, the rumba and the French tumba, and the significant monumental architectural samples in various cities of the nation.
Also competing for the award were important Caribbean tourist destinations such as Barbados, Bermuda, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad and Tobago.
The World Travel Awards are considered the Oscars of tourism and this year they celebrated their 30th anniversary, and the opinions of numerous professionals, travelers and scholars from the leisure industry are collected to award the prizes.
