In a video, from the Simon Bolivar Square in Costa Rica´s capital, the group described Petro as beacon to the struggle for a fairer and more united and solidarity world.
In their message of solidarity they also held banners of welcome and others with messages such as: Petro, my friend, we are with you.
Gustavo Petro arrived in San José Sunday night on an official visit for a meeting with his counterpart Rodrigo Chaves, in which both leaders will address issues such as migration, security, cooperation and the crackdown on drug trafficking.
