Military sources reported that elements of the Syrian military engaged hundreds of suicide extremists members of the Organization for the Liberation of the Levant in the direction of Al-Malaya-Hazarin.
The sources added that dozens of the attackers and their commander were killed in the failed attack, while some media outlets reported that seven regulars died and 12 others were wounded.
Syrian army units employed tube and reactive artillery to destroy multiple terrorist positions in the Jesser Al-Shougur municipality and in the towns of Al-Fatira, Kafr Aweed, Sufuhin, Kansafra and Ain Larouz, on the Al-Zawiya plateau.
Last Friday, the Syrian and Russian Armed Forces shelled terrorists in the northeastern provinces of Idlib and Aleppo, neutralizing at least 30.
The extremists have increased their incursions from Idlib against military positions and residential areas under government control in recent months, prompting the army to respond.
