According to a report from the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the event, which consists of a conference and an exhibition, will be held from November 14 to 16 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) and parallel workshops will receive students from 24 local universities, 19 from the Gulf Cooperation Council, 47 Arab and 84 foreign universities.
The GMC is sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, and organized by the ADNEC Group, in partnership with WAM, and will be attended by global industry leaders, specialists and influencers, as well as academics and youths.
The students’ participation is intended to develop expertise and show them the media industry, the various functions of the media and its role in developing communities by addressing a variety of challenges, including climate change and promoting tolerance, coexistence and acceptance of others to achieve world peace.
The workshops are also designed to familiarize them with media technologies and tools, guiding them to become successful media professionals who can drive progress and prosperity in their countries.
The GMC will cover key topics over three days, including media education, media related to the environment and sustainability, sports media, as well as relevant challenges and opportunities and the use of innovation and new technological solutions.
