As the official told Sputnik agency this Friday, the defensive line is sufficiently well-fortified, and mines of all kinds have been planted, preventing massive enemy incursions.
Of course, the odd sabotage group may infiltrate, but they can be detected by drones, surveillance cameras, patrols and other precautions set in place, Balitski said.
The governor assumed that the enemy has sleeping cells in the area, but assured that the sabotage activity is not as extensive as it was six months ago.
Before the level of the Kakhovka reservoir went down, there were underwater mines along the coastline, Balitski said. “They were relocated after the water disappeared. It is a territory that is protected today, I do not think that the enemy sees it as a strategic line,” he added.
