Improving the economic and living conditions of Syrians and achieving stability requires the immediate and unconditional lifting of the illegal and inhumane unilateral coercive measures, said the diplomat, quoted by the press here, during a Security Council session dedicated to discussing the political situation in that country.

He mentioned another reason for this difficult situation and that is the illegal military presence of the US forces, which prevents the Syrian people from enjoying their resources and national wealth.

The continued presence of the Pentagon troops violates the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Syria, and encourages terrorist and separatist organizations and militias, he said.

He asserted that during the Syria-related meetings, the US took advantage of its presidency of the Security Council to serve its malicious policies, spreading lies and misleading information.

This kind of wrong practice gives a false image and diverts the Security Council from its real purpose, which contradicts Washington’s permanent membership in this body, he concluded.
