Hernández Pardo, who is also deputy director of the Martí Program Office, highlighted the participants’ commitment to disseminate the call for the Conference to take place in Havana from January 28 to 31, 2025, and encourage broad attendance of representatives from northwestern Mexican states.
Every two years, the José Martí Project for World Solidarity, coordinated by the Martí Program Office in Cuba, convenes these pluralistic and multidisciplinary forums of thought, co-sponsored by several international organizations.
They began in 2003, and the five editions held so far have registered an ever-increasing participation of intellectuals worldwide.
Hernández Pardo, who presided over the inauguration of the chapter, emphasized that these events intend to sow ideas and awareness to improve the world and are a worthy tribute to the Apostle of Cuban independence, recalling that, for José Martí, “homeland is humanity”. jrr/iff/mem/lma
