According to Minister Sergio Massa, the regulations will be focused on compensating vulnerable sectors and will also benefit small and medium-sized companies.
Massa assured that the next actions will be aimed at reducing the impact of a devaluation imposed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
For Massa, the debt of 56,700 million dollars contracted by former president Mauricio Macri with the IMF constitutes a huge trap and a mortgage, which they have to live with until it is possible to be canceled.
He also criticized the attempts of the opposition alliance “Juntos por el Cambio” to prevent the development of the current government’s negotiations with the IMF.
A study by the General Audit Office of Argentina concluded that the agreement established during Macri’s term (2015-2019) was marked by breaches of established regulations, did not respect the criteria of the process of negotiation and execution, and led to the greatest debt with the IMF.
