Violent right-wing extremist group protests in favor of prosecutor

Lima, Aug 24 (Prensa Latina) A small group of right-wing extremists held a protest in support of the prosecutor of the Nation, Patricia Benavides, and her lawsuit against the investigations opened against her by the National Board of Justice (NBJ).

On Wednesday, the demonstration noisily harassed the NBJ in front of the premises of the instance that supervises and sanctions judges and prosecutors and, before the possibility of a firm investigation, Benavides appealed to the Constitutional Court and invoked her autonomy for it to determine that the board cannot continue investigating her.

The hostile act was carried out by “La Resistencia”, a group linked to extreme right-wing parties characterized by physical and verbal violence and by the harassment of the homes of center and left-wing personalities.

The demonstrators, using loudspeakers, praised Benavides as the “pride of Peru” and carried signs with insults and slogans against the judges of the NBJ.

The rejection by neighbors of the NBJ premises to the intruders of “La Resistencia” gave rise to frictions, before which the Police intervened to contain them, but did not act against the Neo-fascist group, as it is almost always the case, according to the press reports.
