Venezuela strengthens exchange with Latin American and Caribbean bank

Caracas, Aug 24 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela strengthened its cooperation and relations with the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) at a meeting in this capital, Venezolana de Televisión reported on Thursday.

The meeting, chaired by Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and CAF President Sergio Diaz Granados also reviewed the common working agenda for sustainable development of this international financial institution, the source added.

The parties discussed Latin American and Caribbean integration, for whose projects this financial institution offers financing in the region’s public and private sectors, according to the Ministry of People’s Power for Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade.

The services and actions provided by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean include acting as a financial intermediary, mobilizing resources from industrialized countries to the region, promoting trade and investments and supporting the business sector.

The bank, which is made up of 20 countries and has had its headquarters in Caracas since 1968, has financed a number of projects to date and aims to promote sustainable development in the region through development, trade and investment.

The First Meeting of CAF Officials was held in 2022 in this capital with the presence of delegations from all 20 member countries and representations from several European nations.
