“Kazakhstan aspires to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with the Brics countries and the African Union, and would like to make its contribution as a member State,” Tokayev said at the “Brics Plus” Forum, held in the context of the 15th Brics Summit in South Africa.
Tokayev expressed his firm belief that the Brics “should intensify collective efforts to ensure global security and sustained and inclusive development.”
As a result of the BRICS Summit, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Iran were officially invited to join the group, and they will become full members of the bloc on January 1, 2024.
