UN representative confirms Guterres’ willingness to visit Palestine

In statements to the press, the Palestinian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Riyad Mansur assured that the head of the UN and the Committee agreed on the difficult situation in Palestine and in the Middle East in general.

The diplomat called on the international community to get involved in the solution of the conflict with Israel, grounded in international law and relevant UN resolutions.

A briefing presented by the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, stated that over 200 Palestinians and a score of Israelis have been killed so far this year due to hostilities.

Those victims not only represent higher rates than in all of 2022 but are reported to be the highest since 2005.
