Following the new actions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP in Spanish), the group of social organizations noted their support to the directorates, temporary polling stations, ballot collectors and to all the officials and volunteers who participated in the elections.
The MOE-Gt recalled its opinion expressed in the briefing on the elections’ assessment that the administration and logistics were carried out within the appropriate technical standards to facilitate casting the vote effectively.
On the communiqué, the group rejected the excessive prosecution of the electoral process, and estimated that the interference of the Public Prosecutor’s Office could affect formalizing the results by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) and the transition of command.
“It is crucial that the popular will expressed in the ballots be respected,” analysts stood out, they were deployed last Sunday elections, in which Bernardo Arevalo from the Semilla Movement party won a landslide victory.
