Anniversary of Cuban Women’s Federation celebrated in Panama

FMC-2
Panama, Aug 23 (Prensa Latina ) Several congratulatory messages celebrate in Panama on Wednesday the 63rd anniversary of the Cuban Women's Federation (FMC), whose historic leader is Vilma Espín Guillois.

On the social network X (formerly Twitter), Cuban Ambassador to Panama Victor Cairo published an audiovisual presentation on the history of the organization and congratulated its members, especially those who work in the State mission and the Panamanian women who have given so much support to the FMC, the tweet pointed out.

The Network of Cuban Residents in Latin America and the Caribbean and the Marti Association of Cuban Residents in Panama, in turn, issued a statement praising the Cuban women’s tireless work in the defense of their rights and gender equality in Cuba.

“It has been you who have promoted important transformations, such as the mass incorporation of women into education and work, the guarantee of sexual and reproductive rights, the eradication of discrimination and gender violence, among other remarkable achievements,” the communiqué added.

The Panamanian organizations underscored the example of solidarity and commitment by Cuban women, who have contributed to the development of other nations through international collaboration, especially in the fields of health care and education.

Founded on August 23, 1960, at the dawn of the Cuban Revolution, the FMC made it possible for Cuban women to have their own space where they could discuss their concerns and be part of the social, economic and political transformations at the time.
