More than 30 humanitarian workers have been killed in Afghanistan

OCHA-Afganistan
Kabul, Aug 22 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed here that 38 workers from that agency have been killed in Afghanistan over the last two years.

OCHA Humanitarian Coordinator for Afghanistan Daniel Endres stated that most of these people were polio vaccinators and sappers who worked in Afghanistan.

We applaud their bravery and celebrate their dedication to the service of humanity. We also take a moment to recognize the humanitarian workers who were injured, abducted, arrested or remain in captivity for any reasons, the official added.

The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate (Taliban Government), Zabiullah Mujahid, in turn, rejected the humanitarian aid coordinator’s comments and said aid workers in Afghanistan have the support of the Islamic Emirate.

All Western institutions are coordinated to present Afghanistan as an unsafe region and they have started and are continuing their publicity, but this is not true. Afghans are witnessing, and we are also witnessing, that humanitarian workers were not harmed, the spokesman said.
