The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the incidents before Ankara’s diplomatic missions in Copenhagen and The Hague, which have been described as despicable attacks.
According to diplomatic sources quoted by Anatolia news agency, Turkish authorities have been continuously critical of those events, which have also sparked protests in other Muslim-majority countries.
In June, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the events in the Swedish capital, also referring to the burning of the Quran, a situation considered a new obstacle in that country’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
