The Cuban president is accompanied by a delegation made up of ministers, vice ministers and representatives of several organizations with the purpose of holding talks with their local counterparts in order to strengthen cooperation on fields of common interest.
Several agreements and memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed during the meeting, which will give continuity to the guidelines established by the intergovernmental commission, whose fifteenth session took place last April in Havana.
Díaz-Canel held a conversation with a representation of more than 200 Cuban collaborators in Angola on Sunday and said Cuba is interest in strengthening bilateral exchange in the field of science and innovation.
The Cuban president has a busy schedule for this Monday in Luanda, which includes a speech before the National Assembly.
In addition, he will talk with Cuban residents and members of solidarity groups with Cuba, and will pay tribute to the Cuban fighters who gave their lives together with the Angolan people in the war against Apartheid, as well as others who died while carrying out civilian tasks.
