The emblematic Sauto Theater in Matanzas will be the venue for the first three days of the event, which will welcome outstanding national and foreign artists and groups, starting at 21:00 hours, local time.
On Monday night, one of Cuba’s rumba legends, Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, a group attached to its African roots since it was founded in 1952, will perform.
The legendary group will be accompanied by Yarima Blanco y Son Latino, and Alain Pérez y La Orquesta.
From August 24-27, performances will take place at the same time in Varadero’s Josone Park, and the show will be inaugurated by the rumba group that opens tonight in Matanzas.
Along with them, the fourth day will feature La Mambanegra, from Colombia; while Cuba will be represented by Toques del Río, Orquesta Faílde and its guest Hayla María Mompié, Pachito Alonso y sus Kini Kini, and Diván.
The extensive musical, recreational and environmental program is presided over, as every year, by the musician and creator of the event, Issac Delgado, who told a press conference that one of the attributes of Josone Park is being the lung of the resort and a protagonist of the preservation of nature.
Varadero Josone Rumba, Jazz & Son allows the audience to enjoy different musical genres, in direct contact with nature and just steps away from the most beautiful beach in the Cuban archipelago, which makes the itinerary of this festival an authentic and unrepeatable experience.
