Lourenço received his counterpart from the Caribbean nation, Miguel Díaz-Canel, at the Presidential Palace in Ciudad Alta, occasion in which he highlighted the impressive resilience of Cubans in the face of the coercive measures applied to the island.
He also highlighted the capacity to find solutions in the midst of these adverse circumstances, in order to guarantee the life of the people and national sovereignty.
After the official talks, Lourenço said that Angola has a high esteem for the relations with the Caribbean nation and reaffirmed that they will continue to strengthen and consolidate cooperation ties.
In this sense, he expressed his satisfaction for the more than four decades of collaboration, particularly in sectors such as health, education, higher education, defense, transport, trade and industry.
He also highlighted the role of the doctors who ensured health services at all levels while preparing their own personnel.
Angola and Cuba have common concerns, Lourenço said, such as the fight against poverty and the struggle for social economic development; this puts us in a position to assess joint strategies that will help us overcome all the challenges linked to the progress of our populations, he added.
