The second orbit departure maneuver of the spacecraft module was a success early Sunday morning, when it moved into a 25 by 134-kilometer position around the Moon, ISRO noted in a message on social media.
On Twitter (platform X), the Indian space agency confirmed the smooth operation so far of the spacecraft.
It continues August 23 as the scheduled date for the landing near the Moon’s south pole of the module carrying a rover inside, ISRO explained in its publication.
According to statements to the press by retired ISRO scientist and writer, B R Guruprasad, Vikram has the difficult task of landing at the Moon’s south pole, where no one has succeeded so far.
