The deputy head of the Chinese embassy here, Shen Qinmin, in statements to The Ethiopian Herald stressed the importance of varying bilateral collaboration towards political, economic, and educational sectors, among others.
“We have a very close and growing economic and trade relationship with Ethiopia, which is a demonstration of the strong relations between the two countries,” he emphasized.
Qinmin explained that China’s Belt and Road Initiative is among the revolutionary development programs implemented in Addis Ababa and beyond, a sign of the enormous potential for growth if properly exploited.
Ethiopia and China have many things in common, including ancient civilization spanning more than three thousand years.
The two nations also have common goals for development, prosperity and renaissance, which requires forging strong cooperation in various political, social and economic areas of mutual interest, he stressed.
